Abstract
Fish and Fish products have an important place in the economy of India not only because they are good foreign exchange earners but are also important to bridge the protein gap in the country. Located as the country is, India holds a vantClge position in the Indian Ocean, the fishery resources of which have been estimated to be nearly 49 million tonnes.
