Abstract
Molluscs, rich and varied in species especialIy those inhabiting the coastal waters, back' waters and estuaries are of importance in contribut' ing a good deal to the economic well-being of our country. Chiefly they are fished to proyide a source of cheap but lllltri60us food, for pearls priced as high as gems and for shells put to varied uses.
