Abstract
Sponges which belong to the Phylum Porifera are also commonly called ‘pore bearers’ are asymmetrical or radially symmetrical metazoans characterized by a porous body and an internal system of canals. These primitive animals have cellular grade of organization i.e. the sponge body is formed of loose aggregation of cells, without tissues and organs.
