Abstract

It is important to repeat the testing of a set of treatments, such as varieties or manures, in a number of locations or seasons in large-scale experimental programmes. The trial is frequently repeated at experimental locations positioned throughout the tract. The purpose of repetition is to see how sensitive treatment effects are to site change. More broadly, the goal of repetition is to uncover treatments that are effective for specific tracts, in which case trials are conducted simultaneously on a representative number of sites.
