Abstract

Climate over the Earth is showing perceptible changes over both global and regional scales and the warming effects are now being felt across many parts of the world including India (Vivekanandan, 2010). Human activities are increasing the levels of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere leading to a rise in atmospheric temperature. Since the year 1750, the level of atmospheric CO2 has risen from 280 ppm to 401 ppm in 2015, and if unchecked, will be at around 560 ppm by the year 2050.
