Abstract
Unusual heavy swarming of jellyfishes were noticed along the Sindhudurg coast of Maharashtra during the months of October and November 2012. The jellyfishes, locally known as zhar/belaka, had dark yellowish gelatinous umbrella shaped bell and trailing tentacles.
