Abstract
An unusually large perch, Promicrops lanceolatus,was caught in a high opening bottom trawl on board a 9.75 m stern trawler of 68 HP from off Kanyakumari during March, 1990 along with species of Lethrinus, Nemipterus, Lutjanus, Hypolophus. The location of the catch was about 9 km south off Kanyakumari at 27 m depth with rocky bottom.
