Abstract
Suffice it to say that he had a personality of his own, a gentleman scientist, soft spoken, a good listener and a person of creative ideas who had the capacity to tran slate them into deeds. As a couple, Ramu and Sarojini had an outstanding innings at the ClFRI, Barrackpore. In the seventies and eighties, I had occasion to meet them at FAO Headquarters in Rome and they were always an acme of hospitality.
