Abstract
Technical efficiency is a component of economic efficiency. In any field or enterprise be it agriculture, horticulture etc, technical efficiency is an important indicator of development. Economic efficiency normally comprises technical and economic efficiency. The technical efficiency is of two types namely (a) A farmer producing higher output with the existing level of inputs use and (b) Produce the existing output level with lower input. The measurement of technical efficiency helps to distinguish the best performing farm/enterprise among the population. Allocative efficiency refers to the proper choice of input combinations (Palanisami et al., 2002). Profit maximization is the ultimate objective of allocative efficiency
