Abstract

The discovery of Scomberomorus koreanus (Kishinouye, 1915) in Palk Bay extends its distribution to the Indian Ocean. Day’s (1878) Cybium kuhlii is considered a misidentification of S. koreanus. S. koreanus differs significantly from S. semifasciatus in many features.
