Abstract
The Association of Aquaculturists (based in Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar), Marine Biological Association of India (MBAI - based in Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Kochi) and the Inland Fisheries Society of India (IFSI - based in Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore), have instituted in 2010, Mr. J.V.H. Dixitulu National Award to recognise outstanding contributions in the field of fisheries extension/ communication in India. This was presented to Mr. V. Edwin Joseph, Officer-in- Charge, Library and Documentation and the Librarian of CMFRI by Mr. J. V. H. Dixitulu during the 9th Indian Fisheries Forum at Chennai. The award carried a memento, citation and cash award of Rs.15,000/-.
