Abstract
It has been a great privilege to be asked to open the discussion on the World Pelagic Fisheries in the symposium arranged by Dr. G. L. Kesteven as part of the proceedings of the Singapore Inaugural Meeting of the Indo-Pacific Fisheries Council. The literature on the subject is very extensive, and scattered in many books, journals and periodicals published in the five continents.
