Abstract
The recent stony corels of the 30uth•east cost of India collected by the lJuthor from the various small islands extending from Tuticorin to Rameswaram in Gulf of Mannar and from the shallow waters of Mandapam in Palk Bay are described and illustrated with a view to providing a comprehensive account of the coral fauna of this region. The present account deals with 92 species divided among 36 genua of which 10 genera are aherma• types and the rest reef builders.
