Abstract
It is now well over hvo decades since the all-Inc.ia' Fisheries research institutions were established. The Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute at Mandapam and the Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute at Barrackpore were started in 1947 and about the same time the Deep Sea Fishing organisations of the Government of India were organised at Bombay.
