    Abstract

The sea-cucumber ranks fir s t among the non-conventional marine edible organisms and this is in great demand in Asian Countries very particularly in China. Many countries including India are nowadays fishing, processing and exporting to improve t h e i r country's foreign exchange. In recent years the sea-cucumbers have been indiscriminately fished in India, processed and exported including the undersized ones. This necessitated the Government of India to impose a ban on fishing small ones and to formulate the policies to rationaly exploit the sea-cucumbers.
