Abstract

Food consumption pattern and nutrient intake of artisanal fishermen community was investigated during 1982-'83in Vypeenkara, Cochin. The methodology adopted includes the survey of 150 housholds in the selected area to know the weekly food consumption pattern and evaluation of nutritional status with the aid of public health centre using the UNICEF standards for comparison. The study found that the nutritional quality of food taken by the community need to be raised.
