Abstract

The Lakshadweep still remains to be one of the least studied group of islands in the Indian Ocean for its coral reefs and reef resources. The area is biologically significant in view of its isolation from major continental coastline as well as for its rich and varied marine life. The major resources of the Lakshadweep still need further survey and proper assessment.
