Abstract
The fourth edition of the International Symposium on Marine Ecosystems was inaugurated at the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute on 4th November. Dr S. Somanath, former Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation, stated during the symposium's inauguration that embedding space-based oceanography into the marine research ecosystem is crucial for harnessing the potential of the blue economy and the well-being of coastal fishing communities.
