Abstract

The Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), established in 1947 and headquartered in Kochi, Kerala, is a leading tropical marine fisheries research institute in the world is under the aegis of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. Completing 78 years in 2025, ICAR-CMFRI focuses on sustainable marine ecosystem use and protection through research in fisheries resource management, biodiversity, climate change, mariculture, biotechnology, bioprospecting, fish health, nutrition, and socio-economic policy advisories.
