Abstract

In a major milestone for India's aquarium industry, the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) has achieved a groundbreaking success in the captive breeding of two highly prized marine ornamental fish species: the Azure damsel and the Ornate goby. Researchers at the institute's Vizhinjam Regional Centre have successfully developed and standardised seed production technologies for these sought-after species, paving the way for a thriving marine ornamental fish aquaculture sector and related businesses.
