Abstract
This small-sized tonguefish is widely distributed in the Indo-West Pacific. It is likely to be a component of the bycatch of demersal trawl fisheries, but no information is available regarding population size and trends. However, presence of this species in bycatch is not thought to be a major threat at this time. Therefore, it is listed as Least Concern.
