Abstract
This species is endemic to the northern Red Sea, where limited information is available regarding its population size or trends. It recently invaded the Mediterranean Sea through the Suez Canal and has since rapidly increased in abundance. There are no known major threats within its native range; therefore, it is listed as Least Concern.
