Abstract
Ramesh Chand, noted agricultural economist and member of NITI Aayog, has said that the country’s premier think-tank will support innovative ideas aimed at transforming the living standards of people. He added that NITI Aayog was no longer allocating money to States on a routine basis as was done by the erstwhile Planning Commission. He was speaking at an interactive session with scientists of the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) here. “States should come up with innovative and futuristic ideas for all-round development. Ideas are much more powerful than money. NITI Aayog will be supportive of any innovative idea which may bring in transformation,” he was cited as saying in a CMFRI press release.
