    Abstract

    Karyomorphology of the mullets, Mugil cephalus and Liza parsia belonging to the family Mugilidae has been studied. tHe diploid chromosome complements are confirmed as 2n = 48 and all chromosomes are acrocentric. The size o f chromosomes varied between 4.80 and 2.12 um in L. parsia whereas in M. cephalus it varied between 5.52 and 2.25 um.
