Abstract
The group of fishes popularly called "Perches" (Order Perciformes) include a wide variety of species of families such as Serranidae, Lutjanidae, Lethrinidae (called "major perches" because of their larger size) and Nemipteridae and Siganidae (called "minor perches" in view of their much smaller size).
