It is an instrument for the livelihood for a large section of economically backward population of the country. Aquaculture is one of the fastest growing food sectors in the world with a impressive growth rate of over eight per cent annually. Over the past three decades, there has been a rapid progress in aquaculture development all over the world, particularly in Asian countries.
