    Abstract

Eventhough the coral reefs cover less than 0.25% of the marine environment, they constitute the most biologically rich and productive system on earth and are often described as 'coral paradise' and 'rain forest of the seas'. Coral reefs support over 4,000 species of fish , about 800 species of reef building corals and a great number of other invertebrates and sponges.
