Abstract
The general pattern of penaeid larval development is discussed and the diagnostic characters of the nauplius, protozoea, mysis and posilarva I belonging to the genera Penaeus, Metapenaeus and Parapenaeopsis are described and illustrated". Inter-specific differences among the larvae belonging to the same genus are not clear.
