Abstract
The operations of Isaacs-Kidd MidwaterTrawl from February,'85 toJanuary,'86 along the west coast of India have indicted the regular occurrence of phyllosoma larvae belonging to palinurid and scyllarid lobsters. The average number of larvae caught per haul varied from 2 to 8, though a single haul contained a maximum of 92. The night collections were richer than that of day. The depth-wise operation has shown that greater numbers were taken from 10-200 m zone. Dispersal of larvae of different species in relation to oceanographically conditions is discussed.
