Abstract

The occurrence of six species of fishes of the family Carangidae, namely, Decapterus macarellus (Cuvier and Valenciennes), Caranx •williamsi Smith, Carangoides jordani Nichols, Carangoides gilberti Jordan and Scale, Carangoides uii Wafciya and Carangoides talamparoides Sleeker are recorded for the first time from Indian waters. They are briefly described and their systematic positions discussed.
