Abstract
The earth's climate is showing perceptible changes on both global and regional scales, Climate change and its warming effects are now being felt across many parts of the world including India. In a developing country likebIndia, climate change could represent an additional stress on ecological and socioeconomic systems that are already facing tremendous pressures due to rapid urbanization and economic development. The unequivocal warming of the climate system is now evident. With large and growing population and low-lying coastline, and an economy that is closely tied to its natural resource base, India is considered vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
