Abstract
Ever since man has started interfering with the delicate balance of nature, disregarding the replenishing capacity of individual biota, the ecological devastations and habitats degradations leading to extermination of several species of plants and animals have become pronounced. The coastal marine habitats are now under the influence of heavy fishing pressures with an objective to increase fish production both for internal and export markets.
