Abstract
Fisheries research in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s centered around locating new resources in the coastal waters, devising new craft and gears for increasing production and investigating the distribution, taxonomy and biological characteristics such as growth by using hard parts, and reproductive and feeding biology of exploited stocks.
