Abstract

At Koprivanipeta and Mulapeta, two fish landing centres of Andhrapradesh, instead of the common shore seine, 'Pedda alivivala' new nylon shore seine was introduced. The nylon made shore seine has been found to catch more fish besides having several advantages over the cotton net. A detailed description including the dimentions and cost of the gear is given in the article.
