Abstract
Chattonella marina which blooms regularly along the Calicut coast bloomed for the first time in the coastal region along Vypin, Cochin in September 2003. The bloom extended to a distance of about 1km from the coastline covering a distance of 3km from Puthuvypin to Malipuram.
