Abstract
All fishery developmental programmes are formulated with the objective of creating a base for increasing production and raising the economic status of people involved in this sector. However, the successful implementation of such programmes depends on the socioeconomic condition of the target group. For planning and management of fisheries, greater attention has to be given to the social and economic aspects.
