Abstract
Coromandal coast plays an important role in augmenting the marine fish production of the state, landing a large variety of finfishes and shellfishes. Scientific, popular and local names of fin and shell-fishes are highly useful to those interested in general and fishing industry in particular. A total of 192 species of fishes and 116 species of shellfishes have been dealt with In this study besides the different species of other animal and plant groups.
