Abstract
Rearing of some species of Stolephorus and a few other small sized fish was done within the breakwater area at Vizhinjam, southwest coast of India. 'Well-type'cages made of nylon netting were employed for the purpose. The fish were collected from lift nets operated during night using lights and during morning hours, as well as from commercial boat seines.
