Abstract
The length-we; ght relationship, relative condition factor, growth, maturity, mortality and exploitaticn of Ariomma indica from north Andhra Pradesh coast was studied. Growth parameters estimated for von Bertalanff’y’s growth function were L,, = 23.48 cm, K = 0.571 per year and t, = —0.182 years. The fish attains maturity at 150.5 mm and has a longevity of 5.25 years. The total mortality Z and the fishing mortality F were estimated as 2.3385 and 1.0322 respectively. The exploitation ratio E = 0.441 indicated near optimal state of exploitation of the stock. The trend of fishery during 1981 — 91 is elso presented.
