Abstract
A fish farm with polythene fllm lined ponds is developed on the sea shore of Calicut for culturing fishes and prawns. CommercialIy important prawns like Penaeus jndicus, Metapenaeus dobsoni and M. monoceros and the fishes Chanos Chanos , Mugill cephalus, Liza subviridis, Liza parsia, Lates calcarifer and Megalops cyprinoides were cultured in these ponds. Suitability of polythene film lined ponds for fish and prawn culture is discussed,
