Abstract
Eight species belonging to the orders Poecilosclerida Topsent and Halichondrida Vosmaer collected from Papua and New Guinea are described with suitable illustrations. Of these 8 species, the distribution of 4 (Echinodictyum clathratum Dendy, Agelas nauritiana var. oxeata Levi, Axinclla carteri Dendy and Phakttia conulosa Dendy) hereby extended to Papua and New Guinea and one, Agelas braekmani is described new to science.
