Abstract
In a momentous celebration of 75 years of marine fisheries research and development, ICARCMFRI got a commemorative Stamp and special Postal Cover release. It also marks the institute's unwavering commitment to sustainable marine fisheries production through wild harvests and mariculture with necessary research and technology support. In this context, the recommendations for exploring unconventional and emerging resources such as jelly fishes, species diversification for mariculture with necessary research support to develop hatchery seed supply centres, seaweed farming and setting up of mariculture parks have been mooted. It is hoped that these actions will provide for a sustainable and vibrant marine fisheries sector in India.
