Abstract

Aquarium keeping, has evolved into one of the favourite pastime hobbies globally. The demand created due to this transformation has paved the way for the growth of the global ornamental fish trade, which comprises of both freshwater and marine organisms, wherein the freshwater forms contribute significantly in quantity. However, regarding unit value, marine ornamentals occupy a better position in the trade. Marine ornamentals can be defined as those fishes, shellfishes, invertebrates, corals, and live rocks that can be used for setting up of a marine aquarium.
