Abstract
Pearl spot has been in the limelight in Kerala for the past year, since it has been declared as the state fish by the Government of Kerala in 2010. The demand for this fish is increasing day by day and thus the aquaculture prospects too. CMFRI has first done an experimental farming of Pearlspot in open backwater HDPE cage.
