Abstract

Pteria avicular (Holten, 1802), popularly known as pearlwing shell comprising adults( TL-48.94 mm, HL- 73.63 mm and thickness- 18.51mm) and spats attached to flower-type gorgonids (Leptogorgia sp) were collected from the mussel bed off the south beach, Calicut on 1- 5- 2011
