Abstract
Very little work has been carried out on the siphonophores of the west coast of India and the Laccadive Sea. This paper gives an account of thirty seven species including one new species of siphonophores obtained during the cruises of R. V. Varuna. The species are described and illustrated to facilitate their identification. While thirty of the species are being recorded for the first time from along the west coast of India and the Laccadive Sea, twelve are new records for Indian Seas.
