Abstract

This small-sized flatfish is known from the Arabian Sea, northern Indian Ocean. It is generally found in nearshore, soft-bottom habitats where it is a component of demersal trawl bycatch. The contribution of this species to the bycatch is unknown. It is relatively widely distributed and common in museum collections; therefore, this species is Least Concern. However, research is needed to determine the contribution of various small-sized flatfishes to trawl bycatch.
