Abstract
The Current (in 2019) Population of India is about 1.35 billion. We are the second most populous country in the world. China is on the top with over 1.46 billion people. The world population stands at 7.66 billion. The world population was only 6.13 billion in the year 2000. This means there has been an addition of 1.53 billion people within the last 2 decades. The same way India had only 1.05 billion people in the year 2000. We have added 480 million people within the last 2 decades i.e., we have been adding 24 million or 2 crore and 40 lakh people every year. The present world population figures also indicate that India represents almost 17.85% of the world's population. This means that one out of six people on this planet live in India. The crown of the world's most populous country is still on China's head for decades. However, India is all set to take the numero uno position by 2030. With our population growth rate at 1.2%, it is predicted that we will have more than 1.53 billion people by the end of 2030 and who knows, we may grab the crown from Chin
