Abstract
The Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) is to utilise the satellite data for a spatial mapping of marine fisheries and mangrove resources in the country, said A Gopalakrishnan, its Director. Spatial mapping of marine resources will help easily locate the fishing areas, navigation channels and protected areas distinctively in the open sea waters, he said, while speaking at the valedictory of the Winter School to train young researchers in using satellite remote sensing data.
