Abstract
During the quarter, the institute has successfully completed the Marine Fisheries Census 2016 exercise of collecting data from nearly 9 lakh households regarding manpower, demography, technology and infrastructure availability pertaining to the marine fisheries sector. We were also actively involved in organizing a series of Stakeholders' Workshops in various parts of the country as part of formulation of the new 'National Marine Fisheries Policy' by the Government of India. Both the tasks were entrusted to the institute by the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (DADF). It is a matter of pride that the institute has also bagged ICAR's Best Annual Report in the Large Institute Category for the year 2014 -15.
